Spook Hill is completely free to visit. It is located just off Burns Ave, one of Lake Wales' main roads. The little lake at the bottom of Spook Hill, called Ticowa, is said to have been made by and epic battle between a brave Indian chief named Cufcowellax and a massive man-eating alligator.

On day a man parked his car on the hill and started to walk down to the little lake to fish. He glanced back at his car and to his surprise it was rolling up the hill. He went back home in a hurry and told his neighbors "There be spooks there," and so it came to be called Spook Hill.

You pull up and stop on the line near the bottom of the hill, put your car in neutral, and let it roll, it is said that you can feel the Chief trying to pull you back up away from the danger of the lake, and there is the illusion of your car rolling up-hill.
