The Highland Park "colony" was first opened in January 1920. Prospective buyers from Pennsylvania and other northern states arrived by train at the West Lake Wales Depot where Yarnell would pick them up in cars for the ride to Highland Park. All of the visitors activities were designed and overseen by Yarnell for the duration of their stay.
